Where to Buy:  Perfect Health: The Complete Mind/Body Guide, Revised and Updated Edition

Description:  Mind and body connecting together to insure good health is what this book is all about.  Use of alternative ways to strengthen the mind and heal the body to achieve perfect health.

Review:  First off this book is a revised edition of the book put out in 1989.  It does bring all the current medical information into play and tells us about things that are new to this type of healthy achievement.

With that said, this book is about using your mind to help your body.  The Ayurdevick method is pronounced in this book.  This method of healing is an Indian method that practices longevity.  Basically the method is used to teach us that we need to make our mind aware and then use that to balance out our bodies.

This type of method is based on you as an individual.  I found the quiz in the book to be perfect for identifying my own needs and what my mind/body type is.  After taking the quiz I was able to construct a plan that fit me.  This really gave me a lot of insight into myself and what I needed to do to maintain my health for years to come.

After the quiz I was able to set up my own daily routine.  Exercise, foods, stress reduction along with many other areas were a part of my daily routine and path.  I began to feel better just having all this mapped out and ready for me to take on.

Once I realized that my mind and body could work together this step-by-step guide set me on the right path to making that happen. Working together with my daily routine has made me feel better as each day goes by.

If you’re looking for a way to find “perfect health” and an alternative method is right for you, check out this book.  It has helped open my eyes and see what was missing and how to bring those types of things back into my life so I could begin achieving my own “perfect health.”

Wash Your Hands

Product Name: Wash Your Hands
Rating: 9
Where to Buy: WASH YOUR HANDS! (Little Princess Books) (Little Princess Books)

Description: A great book for preschoolers through age 7 to teach children the importance of washing their hands and why, if they don’t, they may be sick or make someone else sick.

Review: Washing their hands. What kid wants to do that? Oh yea it was fun for my boys when they were toddlers because to them it was playing in the water. Once they were about 4 that fun wore off and it was a never ending chore to get them to wash their hands. Children think it’s more fun to be dirty than clean, not to mention it takes time away from the fun they are having when they have to stop and wash their hands.

This book is perfect for anyone who wants children to understand the importance of washing their hands. With the cutest little characters such as the little princess, kids enjoy it and want to read it and follow it.

The story tells of a little princess who didn’t want to wash her hands. With the help of the germs and nasties, she finds out why it is important to wash her hands. Not only when they are dirty but also after she goes to the restroom, sneezes or coughs.

They explain to her how the germs and nasties can get on her food or other items she touches. When they are on the food she eats they go into her tummy just like the food. Then she learns that the germs and nasties can make her sick if she eats them.

This book is colorful, easy for small children to grasp and a delight for anyone who reads it. It is very helpful in reinforcing in your small child’s mind that clean hands are healthy hands. Just be prepared for a lot of water and soap buying because once they figure it out the hand washing will be fun again.

The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies for Hiding Healthy Foods in Kids/Favorite Meals

July 15th, 2008 by admin

Product Name:  The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies for Hiding Healthy Foods in Kids/Favorite Meals
Rating:  7
Where to Buy:  The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies for Hiding Healthy Foods in Kids’ Favorite Meals

Description: A simple guide with recipes included that will help you make sure your children and other family members are eating not only their vegetables but other healthy foods too.

Review:  Trying to get my children to eat anything that is good for them is almost impossible.  If it doesn’t say microwave, fast food or chocolate on it they think it’s terrible before they even try it.  This can become very frustrating for a mother who is trying to not only give their child a healthy life but teaching them that there are much better things in life then simple and sweet.

This book helped me a lot with my plight.  Some of these ideas have worked wonders in my kitchen.  My children and my husband are eating healthier and they are eating foods they never would have looked at, let alone, tasted before.

The recipes are pretty good too.  I love to cook and I’m always trying something new.  My family is used to that but for the most part I end up throwing a lot of good food away because they just won’t try it.  Not anymore.  I can give them things like meatloaf and baked ziti and they eat it right up.

I haven’t stopped giving them things they enjoy too. With this book you will find that you can make things like chocolate chip cookies and even brownies that are healthy for your children.  Of course that’s always their favorites but with this new book have also come some new rules. No sweets until they clean up their plate.  That is not a problem anymore because they eat everything served to them and are ready for their dessert.  Don’t get me wrong not everything in this book works.  I’ve found a few things my family just won’t eat, but that’s ok.  They are on the right track and that’s all I ever asked for.

Criticism:  One thing I don’t like is there are no pictures with the recipes.  I like to see a picture of what I’m making before I make it.  Not a big deal but would be a nice addition.

Also I don’t agree with the sneaking technique.  My kitchen is the hub of my home.  All my family gathers there most of the time.  So when I cook they know what’s coming.  Believe it or not by letting them help puree vegetables and fruits and make some of the other items they are aware of what’s being put in their food.  They still eat it and that’s what really counts.
